At Strayer University, we know that our students are unique in the way that they approach education. Sometimes we have parents taking classes while taking care of their families. Sometimes we have professionals who have decided to take additional classes to advance their careers. To make your lives easier, we offer three education formats to make getting to class more convenient for busy, working adult students.
You can experience the traditional classroom setting by attending classes at one of our physical campuses. Depending on the courses you need to take and availability, you can take classes at any campus near where you live or work. Find out if we have a campus near you.
Online Courses
You can choose to take online courses. These online classes come in two formats. The first, the online synchronous class format, allows you to attend class online at pre-determined days and times, hear live audio from your professor, and access a “virtual blackboard”.
If you are looking for more flexibility, the online asynchronous class format may be best for you. You can attend classes each week anytime you want, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will hear recorded audio and video presentations from your professor and access instructional materials on the Internet.
Combined Format
With all of these options, it can be easier and more convenient for you to continue your education. You can even combine formats, taking both an online course and a class on-campus in the same quarter, depending on your schedule. Read about the different class formats. More and more colleges and universities have begun to embrace technology and incorporate it into the classroom. From class scheduling to homework assignment submission, new technology is changing the way that schools handle most traditional aspects of the educational experience. At the most basic level, more teachers are embracing new tools, whether it’s an e-book or a podcast lecture for their courses. Even more so, students are using these tools to thrive in their educational environment.
