One of the most attractive features about adult education is the extensive online course offerings. The flexibility and convenience of these digital courses allows almost anyone to take advantage of the opportunity to get a college education.
Learning Online
But with technology constantly changing, the online learning experience is now more than just webcasts and email communications with professors. Today, everything is happening online. Far from just the expected classes and emails, students are finding more and more that their learning materials, online classrooms, and extended student community are right within reach in the virtual world.

The embedded thought most students have in their heads is that on campus classes are better than online classes – both for learning and for professor standards of learning. But research has shown that there is no difference in the learning outcomes for online courses vs. on-campus courses. This means that online students can pursue their degrees through whatever methods work best for them. Students can take classes on their own time to fit around their busy schedules.
Graduates who have not taken an online course in many years may be surprised by the ways technology has changed distance education. In a recent Strayer Connections newsletter, Dr. Elkanah Faux, Online Faculty, explained these changes. Below you can see some of her insights regarding Online Education in the Web 2.0. environment.
