Serve and Learn: The Military Style of Online Education
One great aspect of online education, historically called “distance learning,” is the flexibility it allows our students, regardless of where they live. But for some, distance learning is literally just that: long distance.
Strayer University enrolls many active duty military personnel who take classes online from all around the world while serving their country. Online courses allow active duty service members to take full advantage of getting an education, especially because of programs like the Post-9/11 GI Bill.*
Online education also means that military personnel don’t have to wait to finish their education; they can serve and learn simultaneously. It does take time and dedication, but it is worth it. Getting an education while in the military can help with promotions and ensure job security post-service.

*Not all active duty personnel are eligible. Service members should always check with their VA rep for eligibility first.
